Designed in the early 20th century by painter Jacques Majorelle and acquired by Pierre Berge and Yves Saint Laurent in 1880, the sub-tropical garden provides a haven away from the hectic pace outside.
I love Marrakesh but like Mumbai it is chaotic. With merchants trying to sell you everything from hookahs to purses, taxi drivers continuously asking if you need a ride, and restaurant owners yelling for you to join them for lunch.
Jardin Majorelle is a beautiful garden. Other than the YSL museum and an over priced cafe, there isn't much to do except to enjoy the serenity of the garden. I found a quiet bench, sat down and reflected on my trip thus far. I would suggest that you grab a bottle of water from one of the many outside vendors, bring your dairy, find a quiet corner and use the time to write about your trip.
Now, my spirit replenished, back to the hustle and bustle of Marrakesh
