A few years ago I really began trying to devote my life to God. Living the way He would want me to.  I felt strong, confident, and happy with the direction my life was headed.  I thought finally I’m on the track to salvation.  THEN I met a guy and my regular church services and nightly scripture reading became infrequent to eventually nonexistent.  Long after that relationship ended I still have not been motivated to attend regular church services again.   Devoting my life to God and living the way He wants is hard.
Antoni Gaudi, a Spanish Catalan architect, devoted his last years to building the Basílica i Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família. From 1883 to his death in 1926 Gaudi passionately worked on the Sagrada Familia, a Roman Catholic Church.  Gaudí confessed to his collaborators:  "My good friends are dead; I have no family and no clients, no fortune nor anything. Now I can dedicate myself entirely to the Church."
Walking around the Sagrada Familia I was moved by the biblical stories depicted on the facade of the Church.  Sagrada Familia has three grand facades: the Nativity, the Passion, and the Glory (not yet completed).  My travel companion wasn't feeling well so I was able to walk around the church alone and reflect on what the biblical stories meant to me.
My pictures or words cannot describe the Basílica i Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família.  For anyone visiting Barcelona, religious or not, Sagrada Família is a must see.
The Church is scheduled to be completed 2026, the centennial of Gaudi's death, I can not wait to see it.

My dress was way too short for me to be visiting a Church
Recently I read Matthews 7:23, “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.  Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’  Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!"  Although living in a way that pleases God is difficult I do not want to be turned away from the gates of Heaven.
